A small group of Congolese youth activists protested the inaction of the UN and the government in Goma on December 6, 2012 after M23 rebels took the city on November 20. The rebels completed their withdrawal of the eastern Congo city on Saturday, in compliance with an agreement reached between the rebel group and a regional body. Rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo will start talks with Kinshasa’s government in Kampala on December 7, to “resolve the conflict” in the volatile and mineral-rich east.
